April in Belgrade is generally mild and pleasant, with typical spring weather suitable for sightseeing and outdoor activities. Daytime temperatures usually range from 16°C to 20°C, while mornings and evenings can be cooler, with temperatures generally between 6°C and 10°C. Spring weather can be changeable, with occasional rain, so participants are advised to bring a light jacket, an additional layer and a small umbrella or raincoat.

In Belgrade, the official currency is the Serbian Dinar (RSD). Cash is widely used for day-to-day transactions. ATMs are available throughout the city, allowing visitors to withdraw dinars using major credit or debit cards. When using foreign currency, such as euros or US dollars, it’s advisable to exchange them for dinars at official exchange offices or banks to get the best rates.

Credit and debit cards are also widely accepted in larger stores, restaurants, and hotels, particularly those catering to tourists. Many places in Serbia now accept contactless payment methods like Apple Pay, Google wallet etc… Taxis typically require cash payment, unless you are ordering it through a taxi application on your phone.

Roaming costs in Belgrade, Serbia, can vary depending on your home country and mobile service provider. Several mobile operators in Serbia provide eSIM services, allowing users to activate a digital SIM card directly on their compatible devices without the need for a physical SIM card.

Participants are advised to arrange private travel health insurance before travelling to Serbia.

Tipping is not mandatory in Serbia. However, it is customary to add 5-10% in restaurants if you are satisfied with the service.

There are several options for planning your trip to Belgrade:

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) is the primary international airport serving the city. It offers direct flights from major cities across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. Once you arrive at the airport, you can easily reach the city center via taxi, shuttle bus, or public transportation.

Belgrade is well-connected to neighboring countries by train, with direct routes from cities like Budapest, Vienna, Sofia, and Zagreb. The central train station, known as Beograd Centar, is located near the city center, making it convenient for travelers arriving by train.

The city has a comprehensive bus network that connects it to various destinations within Serbia and neighboring countries. Several international bus companies operate routes to and from Belgrade, offering a cost-effective and convenient travel option.

If you prefer driving, you can reach Belgrade via well-maintained highways from neighboring countries like Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria, and Romania. Keep in mind that Serbia requires an international driver’s license and mandatory vehicle insurance for foreign drivers.

Belgrade has a well-developed public transport system consisting of buses, trams and trolleybuses, providing convenient connections throughout the city.

Public transport in Belgrade has been free of charge since January 2025, making it easy for congress participants to travel between different parts of the city and reach Sava Centar. No tickets are required for regular public transport lines.

Please note that the express “E” minibuses and the A1 airport shuttle are not part of the free public transport system and are charged separately.

Hotel Mona Plaza Belgrade, the venue of the Congress, is located in Lower Dorćol, at 62–64 Cara Uroša Street, in close proximity to the city centre. The hotel is well connected to other parts of Belgrade by public transport, with several public transport stops located just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel

Taxis are widely available throughout Belgrade and provide a convenient way to travel around the city. Participants can also download the Yandex Go mobile application to request a ride, view the estimated fare and follow the vehicle’s arrival.

When taking a taxi without using an application, we recommend choosing official, licensed taxi services only. As card payments may not be available in every vehicle, it is advisable to carry some cash. ATMs can be found both at Belgrade Airport and inside Sava Centar.
